Meetings


The Sustainability and Transportation usually meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 5 PM. Please refer to the Agenda Center on the City website for details.

Public Comment

To submit written public comment on an agenda item, please send an email to sustainabilityoffice@portlandmaine.gov. Submissions must be received by 12:00 PM the day before the Sustainability and Transportation Committee meeting to guarantee their inclusion in the agenda packet. 


All submissions must include the commenter's name and legal address. To help ensure your comment is published under the correct item, please include the name of the agenda item as well.

Meeting agendas are generally posted on the Friday preceding the meeting. Additional back up material and public comment may be added to the packet prior to the meeting. Meeting minutes are available following approval.

About the Committee


The committee will establish policies - with an emphasis on sustainability principles and energy conservation - regarding the design, construction, maintenance, and use (both by city agencies and noncity parties) of all public facilities and infrastructure owned and/or controlled by the city. This committee shall also develop and recommend to the City Council policies that will address all transportation-related issues including vehicular, mass transit, bicycle, and pedestrian issues. This also includes parking and traffic control.
